Any I can get my grubby hands on
Rear SAM replacement

My rear SAM is starting to Glitch after decades of water ingress.

My question is - if I can find another SAM with the same part number, would it be plug and play?

The complication is that I have the towing pack installed. I suspect this will make things a little more complicated.

Another option might be to get another SAM and have the old one cloned onto it? I've had that done with ECUs in the past and it's an awesome solution.

Search the forum. You will find this issue in detail as its a well worn path. Simply, it's not plug n play. You'll need to find one with the exact same options as your car to begin with and then have it recoded to match your VIN. There's plenty of experiences here and the X164 forum as well that will guide you and bring you up to speed. Fairly sure that there an indys out there who can do the reprogramming at a fraction of what MB charge. And change the tail light seals as well. That's your most likely (but not only) source of water ingress. Good luck
