08 ML320 CDI: Which Steering Rack to buy

Hello all.
2008 ML320 CDI VIN 4JGBB22E58A329091

I got a spraying leak from the steering rack. How do I find out which rack, with our without speed sensor I should buy?
Also, is there a good choice for an aftermarket part?
Honestly given how much work it is to change the rack, I would tent to buy OEM but oh buy, $1000 for a reman is a chuck of change.

Any help much appreciated.

Looks like they’re ~$350.00 new from RockAuto, really not bad. I don’t know if you have the speed sensitive steering or not though.

for what i see with your vin #, you're vehicle is missing code 213 which is
213 Speed-sensitive power steering / Vario steering
Mercedes OEM part number is A164-460-05-00
Sadly not available as a rebuilt so I would price you out @ $2,120.00
sorry guy

Yeah so if he does not have the speed-sensitive steering, then it’s a no brainer to just buy a new one from Rock Auto for ~$350.00 and get on with life.

So, is there a way to confirm this on the car itself. I.e., if it had a Speed-sensitive power steering there should be an electronic connector somewhere near the coupler or the control housing. Is that correct?
I am only asking because I believe I already made a mistake ordering the wrong part.
