ML350 CDI W164 2010
Value Block replacement
Hi everyone. It's my first post. I have a ML350 W164 (2010). I have noticed that my front air shocks drop after use. It's not happening all the time but I'm thinking it my be a leak in the Air value block. I dont think the the two fron air struts would fail at exactly the same time. I've run a scanner on the car and there are not error codes on the compressor. I'm about to try the soap water trick to see if I can locate the leak. Any suggestions where I could be a good quality after market Air value block if I need to replace? Thxs

Do not use a cheap aftermarket block or you wil be revisiting the same issue again

Can't go wrong with Bilstein. Once you know the correct part number you can shop the net for the best deal. If you plan to keep the car for a hand-me-down, FCPEuro does have their lifetime warranty on their parts. Not sure if they carry Bilstein shocks but I'd be kind of surprised if they don't.

struts
I found Bilsteins on RockAuto to be the best price. Also make sure you find a 5% code .

2010 ML with Air Shocks? Go Arnott. $150 on Rockauto.
I have the regular springs and went with FCS struts in the front. no issues. i had FCS on my BMW 325I and again, rode nice and smooth

arnott bags
If you go with replacement front bags… take your time and clean everything before putting the bags on.. If you are going to keep the car for 75-100k miles more but the Bilsteins. I have done many sets and won’t change just airbags anymore if I plan on keeping the car… Why.. the struts are usually pretty wore out by the time they are leaking air.
