Change third brake light - tricks of the trade

I have to change the third brake light on my 08 MB ML and I just wonder if anyone have some tricks of the trade and possible points of attention to share?
There is no room for failures when neither the official MB head office here in Norway nor the main MB spare part supplier in Germany have any new brake light in stock…

i have that its worth the money 20$ but its painfully slow and i have pretty fast computer

Thanks for your feedback! Pls note that I’ve got hold of a new genuine MB third brake light from a stand-alone car supplies store. It’s still in the post. Since the existing is covered with duct tape to prevent ingress of water I need to change it ASAP to avoid unnecessary interest from the police…
