First thread here, so I apologize in advance if any of these questions have already been answered. I couldn't find sufficient information. There are a few (fairly unrelated) issues I would like to address. The vehicle we're examining is a 2007 ML W164, North American model, supposedly Canadian.

- Time and Date Missing – Both the instrument cluster and the Command MSC II do not have the time and date setting. This is likely related to the next point.
- Rearview (Parking) Camera – The vehicle has a rearview camera (although I'm not certain whether it was factory-installed or retrofitted). However, the camera does not display the guidelines. Additionally, there are no rearview camera settings visible on the MSC II, and I can only activate the camera when the vehicle is in reverse gear. Would these two issues be a matter of software coding with STAR?
- Instrument Cluster Lighting Options – In the instrument cluster, there are a few lighting options available, namely 'Delayed Interior Lighting,' 'Delayed Headlights,' and one other. All of these have 'On' and 'Off' selections, but there is no option to set a time interval (e.g., 15 sec, 30 sec, 60 sec). Even though these settings are enabled, none of them seem to work. Again, could this be a software issue that can be resolved with STAR?
- Soundproofing – When comparing this 2007 ML (NA) to a friend's 2006 ML (EU), mine seems less soundproof. Road noise is noticeably more irritating, and the doors feel lighter. Although all models are produced in Alabama, USA, is it possible that the soundproofing insulation differs depending on the designated market? Or could it simply be degraded weatherstripping over time? Also, could the doors be ‘tightened’ so they don’t feel as light when opening/closing them?
- Active Headlights – While I’m not currently experiencing an issue, I was wondering if the car is equipped with Active Headlights or Cornering Fog Lights. Given that a few things are not operating and some features seem to be missing from the instrument cluster/MSC II, how can I confirm the presence of this option?
Laslty I would like to know if there are any major differences between NA and EU models (besides interirior features and equipment) that I must be aware of.
