2009 No Start, EIS issue
Having a starting problem with my ML350. Turn the key, nothing but getting the error message "SRS Restraint SYS Malfunction , Service Required"..The battery is charged and good. If I pull the EIS (N73) fuse , #14 interior fuse box and reinsert it the vehicle starts and runs normally. I have pulled the EIS unit out and sent it to be repaired but the shop says it was OK, no repair needed. I am getting these codes in the stored memory of the ECU, 9188, 9189,918a 919C 9181, 9189. All of these codes refer to no CAN message from control Unit N73. Anyone else run into this issue? I believe I have a bad connection somewhere but nothing specific to go on. Is there a scanner / code reader that would give me more specific information. I use a Autel 619 and I know the iCarsoft and others make scanners specifically for Mercedes Benz. Any advice will be appreciated. Electrical glitches are a PITA.
