New Turbo Actuator causes some eratic gear shifts
I experienced some gearshift problems under acceleration load where the symptoms pointed to the turbo actuator. After surfing the net and MBWorld I found some broken contacts which I soldered . Initially it seamed to have solved the problem.
Well the problem came back.
So I decided to replace the actuator.
I did my homework found out about the Garrett partnumber and hoe it relates to the Hella partnumber.
Hella # : 6HW008412 Garrett #: 712720 and G219
I ordered accordingly !
It also said at various places the G219 ( matching the above partnumbers ) is " plug and play "
There were some comments plus photos re the quality of chines part. Looking inside I can not confirm that. ...and there were no ( at least I did not come across ) comments of none performance.
Anyway under a bit sporty accelleration there is a , almost down shift ( so it feels ) from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 (not sure) ... pushing the pedal a little more it shifted upwards . And I noted I have more power, (something has worked)
There were some comments that the G219 needs to be calibrated !! So much for plug and play.
So what to do now ? I have an Icar scanner. ...but with the early ML models only one procedure could be preformed.
If you have any experience with this type of issue, please let me know.
best regards
