EDIT: SOLUTION! Contrary to the various video guides, the headliner must be pulled back away from the front edge of the sunroof before the final "push it forward" maneuver. The clips in question are the strongest ones of the whole disassembly; I thought I was going to break something by the time I got one of them loose, but once I could see one apart it was clear that I just needed to pull harder on the others.
ORIGINAL POST: I need to remove my headliner so I can get to the sunroof motors because the sunroof is stuck open and I think it has some debris in the tracks. I've followed a few video guides online. I removed everything visibly securing the headliner, and the guides say the next step is to push the whole thing forward a little to release it. It won't budge. I found some hard velcro near the rear holding the headliner to the roof and released that with a long screwdriver reaching in from the rear, but that apparently wasn't the only thing still stuck. The stuck area seems to be somewhere near the sunroof opening, but I am afraid of damaging the headliner if I pull it down far enough to get a better look up there.
Is it possible that the sunroof being open is blocking the headliner from releasing from the roof? Any other advice before I get more aggressive with it?

Upon further exploration, there is very clearly a lip on the top of the headliner that engages with the lower rear edge of the sunroof frame, which seemingly does expect the whole headliner to be moved forward so that it can disengage.
But the headliner seems to be attached to the sunroof frame at the front of the sunroof, such that it can't move downward or forward.
