W164 Parking Sensors Retrofit?

Anyone know what parts are needed for retrofitting original parking sensors? My ML350 2006 is without parking sensors.

Front and rear bumpers with sensors.
Front and rear sensor to body harness.
Body harness Bumpers to ECU/CANBUS/fuse box.
Parktronic ECU.
Rear dome light with display.
Front dash top display.
Possibly harness from ECU to front and rear display. (Might be part of body harness or taped back within roof and dash harness.
Centre console switch panel.
Access to WIS and Xentry.

With all the parts to hand allow a weekend to fit it.

Watch out for corroded bumper fixings.

Thanks! Is it something you have done before on this model?

Couple of Opel Omega Bs and a W220. Principle is the same.

It's a question of identifying, obtaining and fitting the parts. Hardest thing will be getting hold of a serviceable wiring harness because most breakers cut the plugs off and older harnesses are not so readily available from MB.

Get hold of a decent copy of WIS and EPC and spend a couple of weekends researching the parts numbers and availability. If you can't or won't do that you have 3 choices...

1. Pay someone else to do it.
2. Buy a car already equipped.
3. Live without.

Actually got a hold of WIS and EPC earlier today, especially EPC seems useful for diagrams and identifying parts.

Will research and also have a look around for parts here, many MLs here for parts available. Fortunately, they don't strip the parts off here beforehand, they only remove a part when someone needs it.
Let's see if I can scrape it together. And how much they ask for it.

Adding third party sensors would be cheaper and easier, but I don't know how good those would be.
And most come with 4, while ML has 6 in the front. And there's often no display, or it looks bad.

Was also thinking about installing 360 parking cameras, I've seen sone headunits that come with cameras for a 360 view.
I'm not sure if parking sensors would be necessary if you go for cameras.

OEM stuff just works and when it doesn't trouble shooting is much easier. If you don't already have it, the factory rear camera is easy enough to wire in, especially if your retrofitting park assist as the wiring runs are similar.

Aftermarket less certain and you don't know how it integrated to the car, or not, until it's too late.
