anyone with any data about the new M class, scheduled for release in the UK this coming autumn?

i'm especially interested in the hi spec diesel.... how fast, whats the mpg etc etc? any spy pictures on the web? any interior shots???

 

The truck debuted at the Detroit auto show 3 weeks ago, so it's pretty public now. First deliveries in the US about May (mine will be June). No diesel initially in the US, but maybe by this fall. I imagine Europe will get the diesels first.

SO not till MAY??? the dealership here in new Orleans say's that they"ll start getting them mid march....

I was talking about custom ordered ones. The dealer may receive some pre-configured allocations earlier, as well as demos.

 

slightly off point, but has anyone been tempted to get one of these new ones already? i mean, for me, it seems a rather too plain looking thing from outside (like a RAV4 or RX from the front, and any number of SUVs from behind), at least. while the inside is interesting in some parts (instrument cluster, gear selector) but a little untidy looking in others (centre console seems to consist of two distinct parts?) although i'm sure now the quality will really be "up there"

 

Well, I've got one on order for my wife (June delivery). I think when you see it in person it will have more presence and distinction. MB seems to be paying attention to quality and detailing. Demos should be at US dealers next month, so I guess we'll see.

 

i've seen the new 06 ML in person. both 350 and 500. i think it's the most coolest looking SUV ever designed. just wait till they hit the showrooms boys. also, the interior quality is very nice also, it's very trendy looking.

 

Just saw them live at the Chicago Autoshow. They look fantastic in person. Very nicely done indeed. If I am in the market for a new SUV in a year or two, this will be my first port of call for a test drive.

 

Were the ones on display in Chicago open or locked up tight like in Detroit?

 

I saw one on the freeway one day in Santa Clarita and it didnt look like Mercedes-Benz's work, it looked like a chrysler pacifica except shorter and squarer but maybe it'll on me like the W220 did
