They come with the special order P95 Interior Sports Package, which I am considering. Anybody have info on how they differ from the standard seats? Link to a photo?

Have to admit, other than the steering wheel, it looks cheap to me. I'd highly recommend that anyone who goes this route also adds Y90 (black headliner).

YYZ's photos are of the #601 Dynamica/MB-Tex seats (US spec #). These are a $0 cost option on top of the P95. The second option with the P95 is the #801 Premium Black Leather, at $1,370 additional. I believe these differ from the stock leather seats with white stitching.

Does anyone know if you can still order one of the special order wood trims with the sports package? I've read over everything I can find and nothing seems to preclude me putting the satin ash wood trim with the sports package. This would give the steering wheel I'm looking for and stitching (pattern on seats and doors). BTW, I believe both the MB tech and leather have contrast stitching but if you're ordering cooled seats you have to order leather. That said, do you have to order the premium leather with the sports package or is the regular leather ok? I know, lots of questions for a first post...... thanks in advance and looking forward to joining the MB owners club.

Aluminum trim is the only option with P95.

Globally, you have to choose 601 (Dinamica/ARTICO) or 801 (leather/Nappa leather) with P95. Not sure what is available for MBUSA. Also, you CANNOT get 401 (climate comfort seats) with P95.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. That is very helpful information. I'm located in Charleston, SC (read: hot) so cooled seats are a priority. Which means no P95 and thus answers all the rest of my questions except to say I don't know why the cooled seats wouldn't be available with the sports package. I can understand them not offering perforated Dynamica but why not just let us have the standard leather?

The more permutations allowed the more difficult (i.e. expensive) it is for the manufacturer. The marketing people select the combinations they think have the widest audiences, but it is frustrating. I would love the aluminum trim with Auburn Brown leather, but no go. Also, no AMG exterior for US 350 like most of the rest of the world can have.

I guess if you want it bad enough, you could always replace the wood trim you have to get with aluminum trim later at a "modest" cost!

I was hoping I could resist the urge to modify this car. At this point that's not looking good on several fronts. That said, this change I think is one I can resist simply because I'd hate to know what it would cost to buy that aluminum trim from the parts counter...... yikes.

Speaking of the Auburn brown interior, other than the one-time 250 SPC order cost, is it the same price as the other leather? In other words, 1620 more than MBTex but not 1620 more than the black or almond leather? Don't want to assume at this point......

Correct, $1,620 plus SPC charge. The 801 black premium leather is only $1,370 + the $250 = $1,620 total.

I would be surprised if you can get 801 for only $1,370. I imagine you'll have to pay the leather upcharge plus the nappa upcharge. I'm basing this on how pricing is done in Canada, however. Things are different down there!

Hmmm...... based on the ordering guide it's hard to tell.

Anyway, as I look at my build there's something else I wonder. Will the MBtex dash cover ($300) be in black or auburn (if you've ordered the auburn/black interior obviously)? The reason I ask is in the order guide the dash top is just the generic black. Seems logical, however, that they would use Auburn as the cover if you ordered both 254 and U09.

Anyone have any Auburn/Black interior pics that aren't in the order guide?

I snapped pics of 254 with U09; it was one of the first units we got for Canada (pre-production). U09 is black.

Great!! Now I just wonder if it will have contrasting stitching. It doesn't look like it in photos but it doesn't look like it does in photos of the black either and I've clearly seen it does in black.

I'm virtually certain it will have the white stitching. That is, after all, the "sport" look.

My order is not quite in, as I am waiting to clarify discounts on top of the dealer's invoice+ price. Plan to have it done tomorrow or Saturday, though.

BTW, while we're dissecting the order guide and accessories brochure.... did anyone else notice that on page 5 of the online accessories brochure if you order the black chrome wheel "inserts" the rim itself is painted (or black chromed) black instead of palladium silver? I'm referring to the spokes of the optional 20" rim. That rim is on my order and would be intriguing to me with the black spoke windows.

Greg, did you get charged the $500 additional charge for sports seats? Specd mine out the other day and dealer said it was extra and populated automatically when adding P95 but i did not see the charge listed in the order guide so suspicious..
