When are the ML550 and off-road package coming?
I am trying to decide which M class car I want! Currently on the fence btwn an ML350 and an ML63 (I understand those are due for delivery in April 2012).
Anyone know when the ML550 will arrive at dealers -- or when the ML350 w/ offroad package will be available?
Seems like I should have more choice in between the bare bones base model or the top of the line model!

Not sure, I am looking forware to the OFF-ROAD package. Do you know anymore details about it?
I know it is suppose to have locking-diff, different wheels, and tires. Of course it will have the ability to lift itself as they do now. I am not sure why Merc has waited for it.

This is something I found on Car and Driver
Mercedes will offer an off-road package on the new M-class with a six-mode selector for different types of driving—auto, sport, winter, towing, and two different off-road settings—as well as a two-speed transfer case, a skid plate, and extra functionality for the optional air suspension. The off-road package won’t be available on U.S. MLs until the 2013 model year, while the Airmatic suspension will continue to be offered here as a part of the Dynamic Handling Package, which also includes 20-inch wheels (19s come standard), adaptive dampers, and the new Active Curve system, a decoupling anti-roll bar that disconnects in off-road situations—as well as normal straight-ahead driving—but reconnects during cornering
