if you read my post.. you will see that my problems are more severe...
day one - right side blinks on start up, sometimes doesnt start up at all.. after a restart it seems to work.
day two - brought it back to the shop - after some tinkering, both sides are going nuts, definately not usable at night. i am strongly thinking about returing it to stock..
anyone encounter this problem? and if so how did u fix it?

#1 you did not say which kit you bought. eBay/amazon/German ?
#2 you answered your own question. Return the unit.
It shouldn't have that type of behavior. Remove that unit asap...you could be damaging something.

Honestly I don't know. All I know is it's unstable. Back to stock today . Anyone have a reputable shop on the island for a kit that works.

got the kit last week and finally installed it. this hid kit is really great. as for the bulb being loose, you need to use the OEM metal clip that holds the bulb in. thank you so very much.

It seems like everyone got the 55W kit.
I will defenitely purchase a kit, but I had a couple of questions.
1. Is the 55W annoyingly bright to oncoming traffic/police in your opinion? I am trying not to **** off people, especially when I am driving around my family.
2. If I were to get the 35W because the 55W was too bright, has anyone tried the 35W and not had problems?

A bit of flickering at start up on the right headlight, but that goes away after a couple of seconds. I will see how they perform after a few more start ups and extended drives (drove only for 5 mins tonight).
I am so grateful I found this thread, saved me a ton of heartache and money....

So, I after chatting with John, he mentioned that the majority of buyers (~90%) ended up getting the 55W kit. Got mine today, installed the whole thing in about an hour, and they look bright, but not too bright. I had another 35W kit before that partially worked (worked after 3 starts), and after comparing, I think the 55W is the way to go.

As an update, I reported initial success a few weeks ago. But, it became apparent that after extended driving +10 mins, the flickering got out of hand and I got the errors.
To keep a long story short, I worked with John and eventually got new cancellors which were better suited for the car. The interesting thing is that the cancellor that came with the original kit (built as part of the ballast, not a separate piece like in the PDF instructions) was not sufficient. So now that my kit has an additional cancellor attached, it works, no errors, no flickering....
Hope this helps...

hid light
Hi. I have two questions:
1) when we order from hidconversionkits.com, do we get the additional warning canceler in the package?
2) anyone change their parking light to hid? If so, where did you buy them?
Also I haven't been able to contact the person from hidconversionkit. Any ideas how to contact them? I believe the email is different now than you posted.
thanks

1. The extra canceler did not come with the kit, he may be doing it now. But I would check to make sure.
2. I have tried a couple of parking lights, the most recent was MTEC with the built in resistor. It did not work. Hopefully someone else was lucky.
3. I tried contacting John via phone with no response. I did get a hold of him using the online chat on the site, and we communicated that way at least 4 times.

I'm having the exact same problem that you've described with the flickering when brake is applied. How did you resolve this problem?
Btw, the fellow "John" that OP mentioned never replied to my email or phone, I got a hold of "John" via his website and exchanged a few lines of chat, then he abruptly logged off and disappeared, at this point I cannot recommend this company.

Cheapest route to installing HID's on these cars is cheap 35V 2200uF capacitors on each side to any cheap/reliable HID kit. I've been doing this on $40 ebay kits for years. Back then quality of these kits were decent but now these cheap kits don't last so now I avoid those. I've installed a $100 kit from xenondepot.com. Lexus guys use these kits alot with good reviews. Recently did this to friend's 2011 E350. Seems like a quality kit, highly recommended. So cost-wise $100 for HID kit and $15 for capacitors from radioshack.com and about an hour of labor, you can have factory looking HID in your benz. I would recommend 4300K but no more than 6000K.
Edit:
Here's ebay(xentec brand-avoid these at all costs) kit that blew after 5 months

I ordered the kit from xenonhidconversionkit.com for my 2013 ml350, and I did get the extra cancellers from them. Took me about 1 hour to install. I left the canceller and the ballast (which is huge), outside the headlight assembly. What are folks doing to keep those from moving around?
Unfortunately, like Javavu myheadlights flicker when I brake. 5 minutes later I get error messages from both left and right low beams...then they turned on and off. Back to stock now.
The pdf instructions on this site were so helpful. So I just wanted to add my experience for those who are thinking about doing this mod. HIDs are so much better, but they did not work for me.
Looking into other cancellers.
Like others I found xenonhidconversionkit.com did not respond to any of emails or calls, when I asked them for tracking information...I only got tracking info after I emailed paypal - 5 days after I ordered the kit.

Good question. I have no idea. Maybe power being diverted to the brake lights means less power to the hids? Also, I should have been more clear. The hids starting to act up, (which included turning off and then on, not really flicker) coincided with my braking, but not every time.

I got this issue resolved, apparently the canceller that came with the kit wasnt adequate. I have another hid set from my previous vehicle that I no longer need, I used the warning canceller from this old kit and all is well now. No more frustrating flickering. I believe you can order the warning canceller via amazon, there's a link somewhere above.
Good luck
