Snow Chains

I am making a trip to Whistler BC in a few weeks and wanted to be prepared if chains were needed. Does anyone know of a brand supported by MBUSA or after market that work well? Thanks!

GOOGLE Thule chains. From Sweden. Where they know about winter.

EDIT: Yikes. They are made in Italy. No worries.

I just looked. You live in Charleston, SC? Charleston to Whistler? Epic road trip. I'm jealous. I also wonder if you can't rent chains after you get there? Perhpas some of our Vancouver members could help out?
Be safe. Have a great trip.

RUD (German) Centrax or Classic V are very good: http://rud.com/en-us/produkte/schneeketten/llkw.html. Note Mercedes only recommends mounting on the rear wheels; however, I believe the Centrax could be mounted on the front because of their unique fit.

Well its the getting there part that i'm trying to plan for with the chains.. SC to Big Sky then jackson hole to Whistler. Return is Oregon to Tahoe through death valley ending hopefully back in SC no worse for wear! im sure the trip will deviat as need to chase a snow storm or two

I told my dealer maintenance shop lead that im going to film it all and should get a MB comercial out of the deal!

Cool

Sounds awesome. Making notes for a retirement road trip.
You will need the chains handy for much of the trip.
Big Sky then Jackson? Is there a scheduling thing? I always get to Jackson before Big Sky. If you've never been before, Big Sky to Jackson by way of eastern Idaho is a gorgeous drive. Weather and road conditions permitting, after crossing the pass out of West Yellowstone, you can take a state road close to the mountains, or stay on the flats.

Enjoy! One of these days I will fill in my states visited map with a trip north through the heartland. Flat and boring sometimes. But I feel bad with a vast unexplored area on my personal map.
Connect the dots: Big Sky-West Yellowstone-Island Park-Ashton-Victor-Jackson. I did of that route in the summer on my bicycle. Winter in a 4matic Benz will be a piece of cake.
