Just fell in love again...
While at a complete stop. After the brake returns to proper position, press the brake down further than you normally would. It will then activate the "HOLD" feature of the ML... A message "HOLD" will pop up on the tach, between the time and the temp.
If you are on a hill or something similar do this and the ML will not move until you press the brake again.
Simple thing to get happy over right? Yes, it is however this is really cool on off-road areas or areas that have many hills. Another reason is that this is usually an extra cost in many other vehicles and you have to press a button - this allows you to keep both hands on the wheel and properly handle yourself to a more safe position or just to get back to the road.

The ML will also hold the break on a steep hill for 1 second while you move your foot to the gas. Not enough for a stretch, but definitely eliminates rollback. Great feature, should be on every vehicle.

"Hold" is a really cool feature. It would be *particularly* handy in situations where you know,in advance, that you're gonna be sitting for a few minutes or more (construction...accident,etc) and in hilly areas (like San Francisco).

Another feature i noticed is when I buckle the driver and front passenger side seatbelt. The seatbelt will retract it back a little and release. I thought this is a cool feature but do you know what is the purpose of doing this? Is the car trying to check your chest size to avoid being seatbelt too tight when collision occurs?
Is that something also available in some other newer model of Mercedes? My old 2001 slk and 1992 SE 400 didn't do that.

But seriously,it's part of the "pre-safe" feature which, according to *my* understanding,is somehow capable of anticipating certain types of accidents and when one is imminent the car takes certain measures to protect you...including tightening the seat/shoulder belts.
