ML63 test drive and question
I went to see a ML63 that arrived a local dealer today. Steel grey with porcelain interior and piano black trim. Looked amazing.
The salesperson surprised me by asking me if I wanted to test drive it.
The color display is very nice. Nice rumble at start up and with any acceleration. In comfort mode, was as comfortable as the ML550 I drove a few days ago and can be nicely firmed up when put into Sport or Sport +. In Eco mode, the start/stop system stops the engine at stop lights. In sport or manual, the engine does not stop. I didn't push it too hard but it does an amazing job of hiding 5000 lbs - drives like a sport sedan. Very different than the ML550, which was also very nice.
Here's the question: Dealer is saying that AMG cars are only built at certain times a year and the next set will be built in June/July. After that, they say they won't be built until Jan 2013. I'm looking to have one delivered in the late fall so this would create as issue for me. Is this correct information?

That's the same information I received from my dealer. I actually want to purchase a ML63 right now but they can't even order one for me right now. From what I am told my name has been submitted and if I'm picked then I can customize the options list. If this happens then I won't have one until June/July.
My only chance is if the dealer can trade with another shop for the options I'm looking for.
Crazy! I was also told that the ML63 is going to be in very limited supply for the next 2 years...keeping it very exclusive...he couldn't' explain why.

Thanks for the information.
The person who ordered the ML63 I test drove backed out of the deal. The dealer offered it to me and the good news is that I will be picking it up this week.
Can't wait
