High Beams & Low Beams Bi-Xenon Mechanism Specifics

I took a long road trip from West Tx to San Antonio 9 PM-2AM trip, this is what I noticed with the high beams. (Bi-Xenon)

When driving with the setting on Auto and the Adaptive high beams: The high beams clycle about every 30-60 seconds depending on oncoming traffic.

IF* the sytem uses a fluctuation in VOLTAGE/AMPERAGE to increase the power, it will decrease the longevity for the bulbs.

IF* there is a shutter and the bulbs are burning at the same intensity, with the shutter fluctuating to change the projection of the beam I don't mind. This seems like a better system.

Please comment on this if you know specifics and details.

Thanks!

The arc of the bulb is the same. Remember HID has no wire filement but an arc of electricity in a gas filled bulb. The light reflector moves up and down and side to side. :-)

so just so I have this right. there is absolutely no change in the intensity of the arc whether I have low or high beams on. merely a change in the "reflector"/"shutter"

Correct. Easily verified parked in a garage. The Bi in Bi-Xenon is high and low beam from one bulb and variable optics/projectors.
