Advice on ordering 2013 ML-- First time

Any advice I need to know before I put down my deposit on a 2013 ML350 Bluetec....... Should I get a build date or delivery date up front so if my ML350 is not delivered in time, I can get a refund on my deposit.

Also, should I expect better pricing if I am custom ordering this ML350?

Thanks for any advice and things to watch for!

You will just be given a tentative delivery date when you place the order. No matter what, you can always back out and get your deposit back.
And you will get a much better pricing for in stock vehicles when compared to custom orders.
Others - please chime in if any of you think this is not true.

The first is a tentative production date by decade of a month (10 day period). The date gets confirmed and more exact about a month before production.

Should I get something in writing from dealership or agreed upon price before delivery or is this all negotiated when car gets delivered to dealership? I am lost of negotiating a fair deal when I custom order a car, I do not want to get screwed! Thanks for help.

What you do is get the base price of the car and add what options you want. I strongly suggest the trailer hitch if you even dream of towing anything. Then add them up and start dealing. When you come to a deal make sure that you stipulate that you will want any rebates or such, if there are any, at the time of delivery. Ya never know, there might be a $20,000 rebate when you take delivery. :-)

We ordered ours because we wanted the P2 pkg. The nice thing about getting yours ordered is that you get EXACTLY what you want. You don't have to settle for one on the lot that has more or less than you want. Plus you can have the color you want. Good luck.
