Inaccurate exterior/outside temp monitor, your thoughts.

I was contemplating taking the MLBT in to get the sensor checked/replaced.

Sensor consistently reads about 5 degrees above outside temp. Anyone else notice this?

It seems to be exacerbated by 100 degree + weather.

Ours reads hotter when you first start it up and it has been sitting in the sun. Once you drive it for a few minutes it reads correctly.

They may have moved the sensor by now but on my 06 ML I was told the outside temperature sensor was up behind the front air dam. The temperature could then be affected by the temp. of the road surface. However, once you get moving the airflow should be accurate.

Not really, but I have seen the temperature read higher when standing on asphalt on a hot day then reading more accurate once we got moving.
