It is not possible to have an internet access with an iphone.
The phone works perfectly, but it is not possible to activate the internet browser.

Even if Command supported it, Apple does not permit tethering (sharing internet connectivity) via bluetooth or via cable, so no this is not possible. Tethering on an iphone is only possible via WiFi.

Actually, maybe longer than that. If you read the German article, it mentions it coming initially only in the A-class and eventually the B,C and E classes. No mention at all for the ML. It also mentions a "drive kit" which sounds like an add-on module is needed for the integration. My guess is that you won't be able to retrofit existing cars with this (at least not easily).

another geek: "Tethering on an iphone is only possible via WiFi." NOT TRUE.

I tether to my laptop with my iPhone 4s using the cable all the time with no problems.

However I have never tried to use the internet while connecting my iPhone. So I can not give this feedback. Too busy driving.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but apart from the above being nonsense, has anyone heard anything about MB doing anything about what should really be a very simply software update to enable internet access for iPhones? I find it quite astonishing that what is probably the most popular smartphone on the market is not catered for fully and that it has taken so long for nothing to happen. I am also amazed that MB cannot enable owner updates of Comand by download to USB or similar. They really are many years behind with their in-car technology.

Felt like getting that off my chest.
