Second row pass-thru

I definitely would want it if it were available here.
It is most useful for skis. Yes, you can flip a chair down, but have you sat in the middle seat for any prolonged period of time? Definitely not very comfortable. And I much prefer to carry the skis using the through load than on the roof rack.
Sadly not available here.

I have to disagree.

My 2 cents. Guess experience here tells them it not big enough for much and is mostly novelty. Usually 4 of us would ski however if the purpose was only for skis why bother Rack allows luggage and WINE BEER FOOD for the chalet. Rack em UP baby LOL

Thanks for the pic thou. I think the hole is too small for practical use. In my mind before, I was picturing something like the second row in the R-class where you can walk to the back.

My guess stuff back there is in a cooler or box or bag or held to the side by a strap or net. Highly unlikely anything of value will be nicely sitting there. I used to think like that but it NEVER works that way. Where would u keep electronics now? Trunk nope hatch not yet? More useful to hide crap quickly :-)had them for years and pretty much useless. Map and door pockets? PRICELESS hahaha
I have an 2012 ML550, and had to ask my dealer to include the option code when i ordered it....
The code is # 282 for the trunk pass through...
I find it invaluable, to put hockey sticks through etc, rather than large objects resting against the top of the rear seat backs, hitting the roof, or partially obstructing your rear vision....

You know not everyone roadtrips with 6ft tall people in the back. It's a lot easier for the kiddies and shorter people to just reach through the hole.
I'm speaking from experience because our R has the two bucket seats in the second row with a console. So essentially we have this "pass through" 100% of the time. It's very convenient to stick some food and the wastebag right behind the armrest and it's so easy to reach. It'd be much easier than reaching over the top of the seat where you can't see what you're grabbing.

In ML to each his own
Is this a special order? Or is it possible to order an option not on the list in their computer?
Could it be dealer installed?
