I've noticed that the keyless go option is a bit of a rarity on dealer lots, even on 550s.

Is there some shortage or do MB buyers not see this as an essential item? For me it is a deal killer.

Actually, most ML I've seen new on the lot have it. I think I maybe saw one or two without it.

Not quite Lee, it only comes with the Convenience pack ($A4,000). However I suspect 90% will take up this pack.

With the ML350 W164, it was stand alone option or with the Premium pack. The Premium pack was very rare, and mine may be the only ML350 with stand alone Keyless Go.
This was well worth the 6 month wait for delivery.

The 350 has so many "options" as standard fitting.... That one got by me.

I have another stupid question that I can't find answers on the search thats related.

What happens if your keyless go fob runs out of battery? Is there a way to start manually?

Not sure, but that shouldn't happen. You will get a display message to change the battery in advance. Keep an extra CR2025 on hand.

Not sure if it helps but there is a Key in the fob to open doors then push fob in dash it should work unless some hokey electronic signal has to match. I think it knows that a key opened door and disables the wizzards.

My dealer said he's never seen the battery die. BUT in that case, there is a physical key inside of the fob and then to start, the start button comes off and the fob can be inserted in it's place (in the same manner as a vehicle w/o keyless-go).

Oh really? Thanks. I figured there has to be a manual way to do it. Next time I'm in the we ML, I'm ginna try to take off the button.

I have the Keyless Go on my 11 550, and by far, it is the nicest option on the vehicle...How are you guys liking the navigation system and the firmware...Is it a huge improvement over the W164 ????

Hi C-rod, nice to hear from you. The W166 screen resolution is better from the W164. The maps of the W164 have better contrast where roads and streets were better identified. The new system has better features like bird's eye view and distance to landmarks. Oh, and the legal notice is less intrusive.

The biggest difference is the addition of the COMAND control knob, which is much more user friendly than the arrows.

Nice to hear from you as well................Recently I drove a 2012 C250 and was impressed with the navigation and upgrades..............I'm not sure in what direction I will head in a few years...but it will be interesting to see the mid model changes ..............

Yes, certainly a nice touch...the arrows are a little antiquated...

If its the same as the W164 you just remove the stop/start button from the dash and insert the key and it will operate as a std non keyless go vehicle. Key battery is not necessary to start it.
