2012 Winter Event TV Ad -- ML Sound
A couple of days ago I saw an MB ad with Santa putting his hand up to the door of an ML and it made a sound something like two quick lasers (imagine 90's alarms beng activated.) Was this creative license or do MBs/MLs really make this sound?

I disabled the ML's factory setting from "silent" arm/unarm and it then used the horn as an audible sound. The use of the horn for this function is not what I expected from MB. Needless to say, I went back to "silent" immediately.

It is interesting. On my 06 ML if I locked the doors with the passenger door still open, when I closed that door I got the locked doors alert (flashing lights). Not so with my '13. The only verification I get is the side mirrors retracting. Where it not for the retracting mirrors there would be no locked door alert. (of course other then the door pins going down)

X Press the = or ; button on the
steering wheel to select the Sett. menu.
X Press : or 9 to select the Vehicle
submenu.
X Press a to confirm.
X Press the : or 9 button to select the
Acoustic Lock function.
If the Acoustic Lock function is activated,
the & symbol in the multifunction
display lights up red.
X Press the a button to save the setting.

First let me say I DON'T even have my car yet it's being built the 26th but being home I started going through the owner manual page 276 is the acoustic locking verification signal it says.. see below... sorry I'm a newbie but thank you all for the info

That is disappointing... but I guess a honk is in a sad way "acoustic" the sound on the commercial would be nice
