noise control strip" on top of the ski rack, reflects MB's service

I just lost the "noise control strip" on top of the ski rack for my 2012 ML350. It flew away when I drove. It is just a rubber strip. I called the dealer, they said they don't sell it seperately. they told me it could be made by thule. I called thule and was told they have not made anything for mercedes for long time. seems I have to spend another $300 to buy the new rack?
anyone can help?

All mercedes accessories come with a 1 year warranty, assuming its a part of base rack technically they should replace it for free.

That strip was very hard to install for me - apparently you didn't have it in all the way, because I don't think it could come out on its own if properly installed. Unfortunately, unlike Thule or Yakima, it is likely much more difficult to get repair parts, cut they should be available somehow. If you manage to find a source, better get an extra.
