Chrome Nerf Bars

We liked the chrome step bars we had on our ML430. So we opted out of the factory steps. Anyone know of an aftermarket supplier of chrome step bars for the 2013 ML?

Not a fan of those. They look old school compared to the options they have now. It just screams first body style ml. Like in Jurassic park

Yep. It's like Victorian furniture in a mid-century modern house. Doesn't make sense.

I find the running boards on my X5 annoying and of little use and getting in an out of a showroom ML and I found the same thing. While they do add something to the appearance I didn't have them put on my newly delivered ML. I was tired of getting spots on my pants in the rain and snow.

Anyway running board warehouse sells them for the previous ml 164
http://www.runningboardwarehouse.com/mlseries.aspx I;d contact them about the 166
also http://www.deezee.com/ sells them for Lexus might be worth another email

When I leased my 05 ML350 I did not go with the special edition and lost a bunch of features due to the fact that the special edition came with these hideous running bar.

I feel for you totally... My 2014 ML has the OE running boards or should I say joke boards .Since when did Benz go from function to fashion .If only the running boards were my only dislike on this Benz. What a total design failure .I have two other Benz and this ML will be my last .. I think this vehicle was designed by a first time auto owner . If you doubt me ? Try connecting a trailer plug into the receiver .If you don't mine rolling in the dirt on your back it's a cinch ..

Running boards work very well for my kids and at 6'3" I step right over them and no I don't brush my pant legs on them. As for the trailer light plug I can do it blindfolded and certainly don't need to get down on the ground to do it.

Well Blue I'm happy for you BUT ..we are all not 6'3" or children .My family grocery getter is used by a mature lady 5'1" and myself 5'7" ..We both used the running boards to step up into our ML.. My size 10 shoe @ a EEE just can't fit onto what is the usable surface of less than 2.5 " after the intrusion of the rocker panel. As to the trailer light port ? You really need to be able to place the plug blind folder because you cannot see it unless you get down on one's hands and knees . I'll check out what my 58 Y.O. son thinks of his ML .He may well agree with you but I really doubt it. After owning 55 auto's and trucks I can sincerely say this 2014 Benz is most poorly designed ever.I didn't want to go into all the other poorly thoughtout items like "Check your surroundings' written within the screen area of the backup camera exactly where one checks the alignment arrow to locate the hitch or the Oh my God handle so well hidden from passengers needing to use it to board .I've strung a cord from it so it can be located and pulled down. Also the cheap aluminum frame around the monitor screen the shines soooo brightly in the florida sun that your blinded from actually seeing anything. I could mention other issues not found on any of my other Mercedes ever. But Blue we probably won't agree on those either..
