Does anyone know the specific details/specs/pictures of a gominigo plate on a w166 with all the sensors?

Which offsets/sizes/etc do I need to get that hooked up for my front plate?

I order what I thought to be the right setup for my ML with all the sensors. 30mm extension, offset left bracket, etc. I spent an hour yesterday getting everything just right, periodically starting the truck and seeing no warning that anything was blocking. Then I found out that the sensors don't go active until the vehicle is in gear.

Today I readjusted into every possible configuration and discovered that no matter what, the plate will block a sensor, triggering the warning that you're too close to something at the right front.

It's just not going to work. I'm calling tomorrow to see if I can return the kit.

If you don't mind getting a tad more spendy, you may consider a plate clip solution that I have on my car. I went with the plate clip over a tow hook mount because a tow hook mount will 100% cover one of my parking sensors.

Wow. This is exactly what I need. Do you know which model is good for the W166? We have the cross pattern grille.

You've got to contact Bob, the founder of Plate Clips directly to get him to make you a custom clip. His email is: bobrohaly@gmail.com

Basically Bob's a one man show that custom makes all the brackets in LA. He specializes in making these for Ferraris, but can make them for any type of a mesh or slat grille. The type that you'll want is likely the VX3 made for mesh grilles.

You'll need to download the "VX Worksheet" here and fill it out.

With that information, Bob can construct your clip to your car's specs.

BTW it's not really advertised on his site, as standard the plate clips come in silver (metal) color, but you can opt to have them dyed black like mine. IMO I like it much better in black as the bracket gets hidden in my car's black grille/ dark color and makes it more inconspicuous. IMO worth the upgrade.

If you do go this route, please tell him Nathan with the R-Class sent you!

I want to ask everyone here first where should I put the license plate: the top or bottom mesh grille?
