Digital speedometer & odometer/trip meter
Howdy folks!
Please find 3 pictures attached.
Pic 1 is from my ML
Pic 2 is from my ML owners manual
Pic 3 is from our C-Class
My question is does your ML's digital speedometer or odometer/trip meter (depending on what you have selected to be displayed) have a complete border box around it? I suspect this is a fault with mine as the owners manual clearly shows it's a complete border box, not just the upper half like mine.
As you can see from Pic 3 our C-Class has a complete border box.

In your first pic it clearly shows that the lower half of the border is there but doesn't appear to be fully lighted.
I have to check it again, I know you have a 2013 but on my 2012 I am pretty sure there is no border at all.

And yeah, sorry I failed to mention that only the MY13s with the colour screen in the instrument cluster have a border box.

Yes it does appear to be a fault. I'm sure some 2013 owners will provide their input soon so you can compare your display to theirs.

my 2013 matches yours in that the upper half of the box is a bold white line while the lower half is a thinner dark gray line. I suspect it is a software change that was made between the 2012 and 2013 models.

I dont think this is a fault. I havent checked my 2013 yet, but the attached picture from a car sales website shows the same as yours.

Looks like mine
I just picked up our 2013 ML today, and it looks just like your picture, only the top half is lit. I asked the SA about it and he said several other folks had asked but he didn't know the answer.

Mine is the same.
We have the 2013 model coloured screen, and the faded lower section seems to give a 3D effect.
The manual was printed before the coloured screen, (July 2012 build) so that is probably how it was!
