New options?

I started a thread in the wrong forum and deleted it, I was asking about discounts. Before I could ask in the right forum I got a call from my dealer and was given a nice discount and I just decided to take it.

The dealer actually sold me a car he didn't have(by accident)and he scrambled to find me a similar one. Anyway this vehicle has every option(except leather) the first one had and a couple more. There are also a couple of options I didn't see listed anywhere and these are options I would have asked for if I knew they were available.

The first is soft close doors and the second is the airmatic suspension without the offroad option. Anyway here is the list of options for the vehicle I plan on picking up Saturday.

ML350W4 $49,770

799 Diamond White Metallic $1,515

105 Almond Beige MB-Tex

H09 Brown Satin Ash Wood Trim (SPC)

P01 P01 Package: Auto-Dimming/Power-Folding $3,700

R55 19" Twin 5-spoke Wheel

413 Power Tilt/Sliding Panorama Sunroof $1,090

443 Heated Steering Wheel $225

489 489 AIRMATIC Air Suspension Package (SPC $1,610

550 Trailer Hitch $550

810 harman/kardon LOGIC7 Surround Sound Syst $810

846 Brushed Aluminum Running Boards $670

876 Multi-Color Ambient Lighting w/ Illumina $310

883 Soft Close Doors (SPC) $550

889 KEYLESS-GO $650

Odd that someone would order that many options without leather and 20" wheels. Looks nice! A few other options missing: P95 Sport interior, U09 MBTex wrapped dash (really nice), Y90 black headliner and 282 2nd row pass through.

Do you need to order Y90 separately even if you have the black leather interior and wrapped dash?

I'm really on the fence about 20" wheels. I mostly care about road noise, especially over bad / grooved asphalt during cross-country trips, and I figured 19" would be better in that respect.

I guess I just wasn't aware that you could order options that weren't listed on MB site. I did know that the designo options weren't listed but didn't know you could get the air suspension or soft close doors.

I don't get confirmation on this vehicle until later today as my dealer is having to get this from another dealer. I don't really have time to special order and buying one already available is saving me almost $5K off list which I wouldn't save on a special order. I really didn't want the 20" wheels either but the wrapped dash and headliner would have been nice.

The MBUSA website only lists the most common options. All of the items with SPC in the description are special order options only available with a 1-time $250 special order fee. There are quite a few SPC only options that you wont see on the website and require a visit to your dealer.

20" Wheels and MBTex dash are limited availability, as are the leather ventilated seats. I waited for months for a Bluetec build slot with the ventilated seats, and kept trying to add the MBTex dash and 20" wheels. Finally the build got locked without those last two options being available. Build date is Feb 4, should finally get it mid Feb, just in time for a golfing road trip with the guys.

That's what these forums are for. Information from the dealers can be spotty, depending on how good your SA is and how much you dig.

Yes, the Sport interior gives you slightly different seats, aluminum pedals and the nice sport steering wheel. Plain MBTex is not available with it, just leather or MBTex w/ Dinamica centers, and black is the only color.

Y90 would look terrible on that build given that the ARTICO is tone-on-tone (dashboard is brown).

Soft-close doors are the same system from the S-Class/CL whereby the doors can be closed gently and they will seal tight via the motorized latch mechanism.

My ML stickered above $65k but I did not get leather or 20s. The leather was on purpose but 20s were not avail. I got everything else I wanted so that was okay and I didn't want to wait any longer without any guarantee once one is avail then other options aren't. I can always add 20s but not mbtex dash.

My dealer got the confirmation on this vehicle today and I have a deposit on it now. Seems like the supply is short on the more optioned MLs so I was glad to get this one. I have a lease on a 2010 X5 diesel that is expiring in February and I waited too long to order. I liked the diesel but it was my wife's vehicle and she didn't want another diesel or BMW.
