traffic watch

Had my ML350BT for about 11 months now.I got in this afternoon to go in town and surprise when i put gps map on screen to check which route has less traffic I get message to call Serius. Call made right away and I am told that Canada Serius does not support traffic watch so too bad too sad for me but its gone. This was one of the features i prefered best. Am I getting taken for a ride? Can any fellow Canadian owners report?

Unfortunately Sirius Traffic is apparently only available in the USA and Sirius does not offer the traffic package only option when subscribing in Canada. We get great benefit from this traffic status in the USA so we are "forced" to subcribe to the basic more expensive package with Sirius. The traffic feature has saved us a lot of time detouring around traffic delays. We don't really listen to Sirius because it frequently loops so if we didn't travel in the USA, we most likely wouldn't subcribe. I find Sirius somewhat difficult to deal with but if you are persistent, you can negotiate the cost down significantly which mitigates the frustration. We negotiated 3 months (after the 6 month free trial) for 4.99/mth followed by one year for $75.00.

To clarify, I believe traffic programming only works in the USA and our subscription enables it when we are in the US. It has never worked in Canada. I believe because we are a Canadian Sirius account we can't subscribe to traffic only programming. It is very frustrating.

Serge I live in Montreal and my Navi system shows the traffic! Now I am not sure what feeds this information between the HD radio and Sirius. I will lose the Sirius trial period in a few weeks.
