DIY install in-dash GPS for ML350

Hi, all. As the MB's navigation is a little bit crappy and P1 package is really expensive (I just want the navigation and rear view camera), is it possible to buy some alternative 7-inch in-dash GPS and DIY install it?

I think the navi is very nice.

I don't see how the P1 is that pricey relative to the vehicle and resale value. And I imagine that it would be a pain to sell by doing all the work with an aftermarket unit. Not to mention warranty issues.

99% of vehicles will be options with P1 in the States and yes it will affect resale value, if you really really hate it, get your self a top of the line Garmin for $350
