Time for new shoes
Never off road...no handling package.
I have considered 20's..what have you seen that looks & rides well?
Thanks
I attended the MB winter driving course in Canada, and one of the instructors apparently owns a tire shop somewhere in Canada (so I don't think he was trying to sell me anything), stated that Continental & Michelin tires were the only tires built to MB specifications (whatever that means).
I don't know if that helps.

2) 35 psi for a W166 my experience is a bit low - with the new rubber I find 38 psi about optimum for me - dealers inflate to 40-42 and I find that a bit harsh. A 2 psi difference will give a noticeable change in both feel and extended tread life over lower pressure.
Keep the beat !

My W164 came with Continental Cross Contacts and 19" rims and I did 46,000km in that thing and sold it with the original tyres still on it with a little bit of life left in them, it passed the roadworthy check at least.
I'll see how the Pirellis go and how many kms I get from them, but I'm still leaning towards replacing mine with the Continentals again when the time comes.
As far as tyre pressures go I took out nearly 10psi from each tyre after I took delivery. Running them at around 33-34 psi now which I find just right and only slightly over the recommended pressures for carrying 3 passengers. Most of the time I'm in my vehicle alone anyway.
