Filter cover seal on 2013 ML oil filter
I apologize if this has been previously discussed. I did not find on a search.
Has anyone changed oil on a 2013 ML 350 (gas)?
If so, when changing the oil filter element, do you also need to replace the filter cover seal?
This type of seal was previously included with the MB/Mann filter for the last ML design. However, this now is a separate part from the element on the MB parts list.
Can the filter cover seal be reused?

I finally did Service A for my 2013 ML 350 (gas). The oil filter is a Sogefi Purflux L394, a filter made by a French manufacturer. Guess MB changed to them instead of Mann. The kit from MB I used with this filter (stamped with the MB logo and part number) does include the filter cover seal gasket which goes on the filter cap. The filter itself has another small attached gasket, already installed on its tip.
Easy oil extraction with a Topsider extractor, took 7.4 qts as per MB to refill.
