Looks more and more like the ML will end up with a four in '14. I'm guessing buyers will have a choice in '15. Keep in mind that the 6-cyl diesel is very popular in the larger GL. Maybe it'll be a carrot to bump buyers up.

I thought the GLK250 was very good actually, I was with VW for 8 years and had a couple 1.9L TDIs one with the old rotary pump and one with the P-D engine and then my last one was a '10 Golf TDI with the 2.0 CR engine. Using the latest VW engine as the benchmark the MB has a more linear delivery and any diesel engine will start to complain at the higher rev range it was not as bad as I was expecting at all. Whats crazy is how de-rated the sprinter engine is, they could put the 2.1L at the same specs as the GLK and still get better performance (on paper, at least) than the 3.0L as it sits in it currently. With the 250 looking likely I think it will perform closely to a 164 ML350BTC as the power figures are not too far off from the other.
