Battery location

2013 ml350 bt.

Is that the battery i can see through the tail lamp access panel in the right hand rear ?
If it is, how much of the spare wheel area needs to be removed to get access to the battery for removal ?

It used to be under the passenger seat in the W164.

In the right rear access panel in my ML is the reservoir for the AIRMATIC.

Thanks, but it is a w166. Battery not under seat. At least you woke up my brain...... i was thinking the that reservoir could be the add-blue.....and it is empty. Aaah, not empty.....full of air

Below that reservoir in the corner, a positive terminal is just visible, and appears to be the corner of a well hidden battery.

Anyone have "positive" knowledge ? Excuse the pun !

Cheers

According to various posts I've seen, the battery is still under the passenger seat in the W166s. Move the seat all the way forward, and the battery is supposed to be under the carpet in a compartment beneath a removable panel in the floor.

I don't know if the diesel is different from the gas, but on my 2013 ML gas, the battery is definitely under the passenger seat. Just move the seat all the way forward and look under a flap in the carpet and there it is.

So.....definitely not under the passenger seat. But just out of curiosity, i looked under the drivers seat. Doh ! There it is under a plastic cover.
Our passenger sits on the LEFT hand side here on OZ. now all i need to figure out is what the thing is in the right rear with the big positive terminal.....

Cheers

Sorry MLee, I didn't look at your location before I said look under the passenger seat, I should have said look under the right hand front seat. Glad you found it anyway.
