Headrests..where safety destroys comfort.
So, with our new ML, the headrests work great for normal height folks. My wife however is 5'3, and it seems almost impossible to get the headrest back far enough (and yes, we've tried the button). Even in the rear most position, it's pushing her head forward in an uncomfortable manner.
Apparently, this is a new safety feature to prevent whiplash. On shorter folks though, it's just painful. Was able to get around this on my Audi by just reversing the headrest, but doesn't look possible in this case. Any ideas?

I'm 6'6, and have the same problem with "modern" headrests - my main reason for ordering multi-contour seats was to get adjustable headrests.
Every time I rent a car I have this problem, the stupid headrest jabs me in the neck and is extremely uncomfortable. Honda's are the worst, followed by Ford, GM, Volkswagen etc. Sometimes I get lucky and the headrest is removable, in which case I end up tossing it in the back seat.

Proteus this might negate the safety of the headrest but have you tried raising the headrest as high as it will go. As short as your wife is perhaps it can be moved up out of the way. Other places to ask this would be:
Join the M-B club and ask their folks.
Go to the M-B web site and sign up in the "Owners Online" area. I've done that and although it may take a little while they have always answered my questions going as far as to call me to discuss my concern.
