ML350 Start/Stop Button
I have a question about the Start/Stop Button. I was looking at the manual and see that when the button is push to Stop the engine it puts the transmission into Neutrual instead of Park. It will automatically go into Park when the door is open. Seems it little scary.
I have gotten use to my wife Prius (waiting on my ML) where pushing the Start/Stop button when stopping the engine puts it directly into Park.
Can someone confirm this behavior?

Yes - the GL is not a Prius - standard procedure is to put in park 1st - then button/stop the engine. If you want to be slick - put on "brake hold" - then stop/button - then open drivers door.. sif I recall correctly will go to park and set parking brake - again if I recall correctly - however, but slick will eventually frack you up - standard procedure is best..

I have a key, so mine may be different, but I opened the door with it in drive and it moved to park. This is a safety procedure and not something to be relied on. Remember the days of if you left your car in drive and got out.... Your car would drive away?
