Camera lens?

I was cleaning my front windshield, and there looks like a camera lens facing forward in the center mirror cluster at the top of the windshield. Is this a camera? If it is, how do I activate it? There are 2 yellow lines (sort of looks like cordite) parallel to each other, but at an angle.
Is this a partly installed 360 degree camera?

Do you have distronic? It sounds like the radar sensor that distronic uses.

Lane Keeping Assist uses a camera mounted high on the windshield near the rearview mirror.

This video mentions the camera and how it works:

Oh, that's right. Distronic uses a sensor mounted near the star in the grill. That's why you can't have the illuminated star if you also have distronic. I got the two packages mixed up with each other.

Apparently, the camera near the mirror is the sensor for the auto dipping headlamps.

Camera has multiple functions. For the auto high beam assist and for lane keeping. Newer M-B's (Es and Esses, not the MLs) have two to facilitate stereoscopic imaging to further enhance safety features like automatic braking.
