Question MB Extended Warranty vs. "The Mechanic"

Is anyone familiar with this extended warranty?

My dealership gave me a brochure on it today, but the lady who was helping me is filling in for someone & doesn't know the pros and cons of this vs. the MB extended warranty.

The price of "The Mechanic" is $800 more than the MB warranty extension for the same length of time/mileage.

Thanks in advance for your sharing of knowledge. This forum has been invaluable to me in my journey to purchase my new ride (which I picked up today! HOORAY!)

Mercedes all the way. No good reason to go with other companies except the price is a lot of cheaper.

It seems like it is not in your case. Even the "Mechanic" covers more components, go with Mercedes. You never know will Mechanic ever close down shop or give you hassle when you file a claim down the road. You will not have these problems with Mercedes.

Shop around, there's a chance you can get the M-B warranty cheaper from another dealer. Put a feeler out on this web site and see what pops up.

I have a great quote from a dealer in Texas, but I'm more concerned about which is the best overall deal. I agree with supernxs that I've never heard of the mechanic, so they may not be a great fit. Just need to do more homework.
