Man this was a long time ago but I do recall I had to grind the width of the tangs narrower so they were likely the std pins
Just followed the procedure but couldn't get it fished though from the windshield side using a hacksaw blade. Any advice there?
Also my original invisicord wasn't long enough so I just used an old telephone extension cable. The middle two pins on the rj45 jack are the only ones you need so I just used those wires and spliced it to the invisicord pins. Works great.
The only other thing to note is that while the 9500ix does power itself off after four hours, it is a real PITA to remember to turn it back ON when the car starts up again.
It would be REAL NICE if anyone could suggest where we could find a switched power jack in that same upper console area.. Please..

Fish from the console end with blade..push through to windshield..turn auto off feature off..leave detector on..uses very little juice..turn off for longer times
This is a great post with lots of good info, works great and the detector powers off after about 4 hours. Instead of fishing the wire along the windsheild I ran the wire through the rear view mirror opening that already exists...literally took me 5 min to install.
