Frank (ML63) gets slammed (pics)
Ordered some links and they showed up today and I promptly threw them on. http://www.adjustableairride.com/
A few pics..I used pliers near the rubber link ends and twisted them off...used pliers to clamp the new link end back on.
Use suspension button to gain easy access to front links...lengthen new links about 3/8 to drop 1 "
Rears ya gotta crawl under to rear their location..shorten new rear links about the same as adjustment amount of the new fronts..3/8"
Result is about a 1" drop all around. Nice that adjustments are easy as you just remove the lower end of link without taking off the vehicle and twist link in or out to go up or down then press back on.
And going back to factory is as easy as simply putting the stock links back on..
The look is much sleeker I'd say and it should improve the stability...

Thanks for the info. I'm waiting for an ml550 with air to do this on too.
Is this the best/only company to get it from?
Are you going to get the painted side skirts now that it's so low and the running boards are pretty much useless now. Why did you get these on your car? Was it before you knew you were going to lower it?
If you change it out keep me posted on parts and cost for the side skirt too.
Good job and thanks for the pics

It certainly feels more planted now..gives a different driving feel with the front seeming much lower..cornering has certainly improves although of course it cornered very well before...much less "swaying" if that makes sense..

Nicely done!
Exactly the same links as mine. When I was at the track a few weeks ago, I noticed a considerable difference with the truck lowered. I ended up dropping mine a bit less than yours- maybe 3/4" or a bit less.
At the track the stock height left the truck a bit uneasy under heavy braking. I wanted to stop that by lowering the centre of gravity just a bit. I'm extremely happy with the results.
Enjoy "frank"! Take him out to the track and surprise the heck out of a lot of people...

You'll probably need an alignment since the camber likely changed with both your lowerings. Can won't go to one side but can wear on the inside. You won't know untill it's too late. An honest shop can put it in the rack and measure to see. I've never seen them say it's ok though and let you go without an alignment.
