Newbie question
Hi I have just purchased a 2012 W166 (ML350 with command) and I was wanting to order a suitable cable to allow me to connect my ipod to the car (I assume in the centre armrest area as I am yet to take delivery of the car). Could someone point me in the right direction as to where best to purchase this. Thanks.

Assuming you are in the US, you need the Premium 1 Package to have the media interface. If you do, then the cable comes with the car. If you don't have the media interface, then there isn't a way to connect your ipod/iphone to your car.

Hi thanks for your reply. I'm actually in the UK. When I looked in the armrest/ centre console I noticed there were two sockets, a small black square one and a large black square one. Not sure if this means it has or hasn't got the media interface.

If you mean "rectangular" - then your "small" one should fit a USB stick - and the "large" one take a proprietary MB cable other end 30 pin Apple connector/2nd-Y is a mini-plug.

You will probably have a plastic bag with three cables, one to suit the I-pod.
Normally it will be in the glove compartment or the spare tyre compartment. If not, hassle your dealer - it should be included.
