Music register issues

Music register issues
Hi, I have a 2012 W166 and I am trying to figure out how to copy music to the music register. I have tried putting original CDs into the slot but the option to copy files to the Register remains greyed out. Is there something I am doing wrong? There is reference on various forums to a "REC" option but my Comand isn't not giving me this option anywhere on screen.

I had no problems with it, put the CD in and record it .. took about 5 minutes to complete ..
Unless you have to check a box to allow for the function I can not think of why it would be greyed out .. can you get to any of the music register screens (delete playlist, etc)?

Back the truck up - forget copying to the HD in the headunit - take a USB stick - burn your CD's at home onto the USB stick (or SD card) and stick that in - hard drive burn into the head unit - that old school burned down years ago - USB sticks and SD new wave - faster, higher capacity, etc...
