So I have a new 2014 ML350, barely have 4,000 miles on it and tonight while driving, a chunk of ice flung up from the tire and cracked the lower black plastic part of the passenger side mirror. The mirror, blind spot monitor triangle, and lights all were undamaged. Will I need to get a whole new mirror or is there some way to get just the black plastic part? Picture is attached.

I'm pretty sure both are separate parts therefore u can just replace the plastic part that's broken.

So...thanks to everyone here, I was able to get the part and have it fixed. But then I just now noticed that there is also a crack in this part of the mirror (see picture). Dealer quoted me $919 saying the entire thing has to be replaced. Do you think this is true??? If I have to suck it up and pay, I will, but for that little plastic piece I wish there was a better option...

Probably true, but I'd look for way to fill that area and repaint. Would be hrdly noticeable and less than $100 at most. Your call, if you have unlimited budget to fix a minor cosmetic damage area like that.

Change it please. You have 60000 pound car , this will not dent your pocket if buying it did not.
You will live in sadness, just imagine that it has had bid accident damage and you would have had to change it !
Do not live in poverty ! You are not poor and you can afford it. Stop thinking .Do it.he car is for your enjoyment. You could have had similar use from a 6000 pound car but you went for this to please yourself.
