ML 350 BT Turbo Cool Down

ML 350 BT Turbo Cool Down
I assume there's a turbo cool down fan or oil pump system that runs after engine shut down. Is there any information on how long it operates? I noticed a fan sound coming from the Right (Passenger side) of the engine compartment about 20-30 minutes after I had shut off the engine. Was this the turbo cool down system and should it be running that long? Haven't seen anything on this in the OM.

Fan running after shutdown
I have the same condition in my 2014 Blue Tec. If I open the drivers side or front passenger door, the fan stops. On one occasion, after closing the drivers side door, the fan stopped. On another occasion, after closing the drivers side door, the fan started to run again. I got the fan to stop when I pushed the off button on the climate control which makes no sense as the key was out of the ignition. Searched owners manual but could not find anything on this. Thanks.

I notice this on my 2014 ML350BT when I have the "cooling" for one of the front seats turned on. When I shut the engine down, the fan, from the rear of the vehicle continues to run, until I open the door and then it stops. I don't think this is what Chasvs is talking about, is it? I have never heard anything continue running from the engine compartment after shutdown, but I live near the beach in So. Calif., so it never gets really hot here.
