Roof Box Experience

I'm wondering if anyone has purchased an MB brand roof box and if so how much cabin noise one makes at highway speed?

I purchased the basic carrier rack the other day and had hoped my Yakima ski racks would fit, but, alas, they did not, so now I'm on the hunt for a ski rack/carrier. Since I have a long trip planned for the summer I was thinking of just getting a roof box for both uses. But if it's a huge noise factor I'll go with the less expensive ski racks and possibly a different cargo plan for the summer.

Also, if anyone has experience with taking the ski rack or roof box on and off the racks that would be helpful to hear. I would need to do this regularly to get the ML in the garage...

Thanks!

I had a loaner 14 ML with pano roof that I just had my Thule box on using whispbar s55 racks.

The box definitely adds noise...but not terribly. I'm sure having skis and other rack stuff would be as noisy if not more.

Thanks Cyclrder for the input. Helps to know that it wasn't too noisy even with the pano roof.

I would mention that had the Thule racks and box.. I would leave the racks attached to the box and then move it on and off for each use as we a garage that it won't fit... The Thule racks clamp over the rail.. Make sure they are wide enough. Honestly it is a pain...def to tall and clumbersome for my wife to help.
I just switched to the whispbars55 and like them much better.. But the will stay on all the time.
