Has anyone tried 255/55/R19?

I'm looking for a smoother ride and I would like to know if this works?

Also, how important is it for the XL rating on the tires?

Generally, the higher the speed rating, the "less smooth" the ride. It does seem to vary by make also. I prefer "H" rated tires, but I rarely go over 100.

On my last ML, I had Hankooks that were a good bit oversized (taller) on 19 inch rims. Smoother and quieter than any other tire on that truck. And, they held up very well.
