Recommendation for MB body shop in the Bay area?

Folks,

I am so so so so very sad and mad right now. Someone rear-ended my 12 day old baby today. While I was stopped at a Stop light. FML

Damage wasn't extensive (could have been worse), some scratches and a small crack to the bumper, deeper scratches on the chrome and a broken piece where I think a sensor was hidden away.

I have started the claim process with my insurance company but turns out none of the MB dealers here do any body work at the dealership.

I went through the list (http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...nters_list.pdf) and found 2 places which is both "Mercedes" certified and has good reviews (and works with my insurance company) (1 is ECC in the city, 2nd is Cooks at Fremont).

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with these or any other good body shops which will guarantee me that they only use OEM stuff (like if they need to replace the bumper). My insurance company is State Farm

dawizard,

I'm sorry to hear your frustrating news. Sounds like no sheet metal damage, so that is good. With the relatively low volume of current ML's on the road, I doubt that you'll run into anything but genuine MB replacement parts.

I'm not familiar with any body shops in the Bay Area, but suggest that you post your request in the C and E forums. Since there are a lot more C's and E's on the road, you'll be more likely to get an experienced reply.

Good luck.

Dave

Thank you Dave, that is an excellent point. I'll check in with other forums too.

A gaggle of MB's
Use "Mercedes Certified Collision Center" - a couple of notes - especially if you have metallic paint - and if your MB is "undriveable" or "unsafe" (ie cracked taillight) - then Roadside Assist will give free tow to the Collision Center.

Keep the beat !

Thanks! I do have metallic paint (Lunar blue)....sigh I was just admiring today how much I love the color.....long sighhhhhhhhhhhhh

I'll definitely stick with a Certified Collision Center dealer. The car is still "driveable", thankfully no lights were broken. The 20" wheels and the other car being a much smaller Camry helped limit the damage only uptil the bumper.

Also, I am wondering, is it my responsibility to point out the exact scratches to the shop or would they take a comprehensive look at it as well? I just don't want the case where I may miss something...

Just had my wife's 2014 E350 coupe repaired at:Car West Auto Body Elite
4311 Solar Way
Fremont, CA 94538

This is the second time I've used them for her cars and the work has been flawless. They are an MBZ Certified Repair facility.

She too was rear ended. Diamond White Metallic matched perfectly. I highly recommend them.

Thanks Joe! I definitely missed out on this one when I was searching. I've made an appointment with these guys, the reviews look great too and is closer to me.
