ML250 Towing Capacity

Just came from the dealer and he had trouble giving me a definitive answer on "what is the towing capacity of the ML250"?

Does anyone have this info?

6,600 lb. Same as the RWD ML350 gas.

It can probably tow 6,600 lbs, but the unanswered question is "how well" can it do it.

My camper trailer weighs 4,400 lbs; and on my recent trip to Alaska and back, I was grateful for every Nm of torque from my ML350BTC.

A lot of it depends on what you are towing and how much air it is pushing. A brick is going to be a lot harder to pull than something more streamlined.

In the grand scheme of things, 4,400lb is not that much trailer... certainly not enough to stress something with 455 ft/lb of torque.

To the OP -
The ML250 should tow quite nicely presuming your expectations of the vehicle's performance are reasonable.

70-75 mph in the mountains definitely pushed it on the upgrades.

You were towing a travel trailer at 70 - 75? Holy hell... I can't imagine the wind resistance at those speeds.

I've pulled it at 80-85 mph in Tejas with my Audi Q7. Longer wheelbase gives better stability and, believe it or not, better fuel mileage.

I averaged 17 mpg with the Q7 3.0 TDI at 80-85 mph vs 15 mpg with the ML350BTC at 70-75 mph.
