Took the Plunge Today ALMOST Ordered ML400
Have been looking @ ML's the last week and negotiating the last 3 days between 2 dealers. Special order that is scheduled for production the 2nd decade of Feb. Should have it before the end of the month as we are only a day's drive from Alabama.
Have reached the age where my wife and I can get along with 1 vehicle. Traded 2 MB's on the ML. This is #35. Maybe our last so we wanted to be sure & make the correct choice. Hope we did. Will find out.
1 nit to pick. 400 has only 2 wheel choices. The 20" has no pizzaz. Chose the 19" which is still on the plain side but better than the 20". Dealer searched factory web site for any other choices--but none available. If anyone has a solution for a better MB alternative I would be glad to hear it. On test drive was amazed how well the 400 rode on 20" wheels. Now the BIG WAIT!
Any comments on the Dakota Brown Metallic paint color? Right now our ML is spec'd with Palladium. Nice color but wonder if this Dakota Brown would be a nice change and a little different. Ordinarily would never look @ brown but this color is interesting.

Why not wait for new model
If this is a long term car why not wait for the revision in just a few months? New led headlights and command system and outside looks.

Out of nowhere a MLBlueTEC showed up yesterday @ dealership in Cinnebar red metallic with the equipment we wanted plus the new Parktronic w/360 camera and Distronic Plus etc. so bought it on the spot. Beautiful color--black interior w/Open Pore ash wood dash. Also rear seat heaters & NO Running Boards. I think that the running boards are the biggest waste of $$$ in the option list. Too small to use and an obstacle to climb over. Will take delivery next week. Also less $$$ than we were originally going to spend & no waiting almost 3 months for delivery. We are trading both of our MB's and downsizing to 1 car. MB has to be the only mfg who prices a diesel BELOW a gasser. I have had 6 diesels over the years so it made no difference to me. The bottom line is that the mpg on the ML will be about the same as the GLK350 included in our trade, Not bad for 5,000 lb SUV. INTERESTING. ML was mfg on Monday & delivered to dealer on Friday.

They don't... The ML250 Bluetec starts at $49,800 and the ML350 starts at $48,300. In previous years, the ML350 Bluetec was a premium as well over the base ML350. The ML400 is the top model in the ML line (non-AMG), replacing the ML550, so base price comparisons don't really apply.
Big difference between the TT V6 in the ML400 and the TD 4 Cylinder in the ML250, but to each their own.

New ML
Couldn't wait. The sooner I can make the trade the better trade allowance I RECEIVE ON 2 mb'S. Plus would have to pay for some type of temp transportation. Bottom line saved several thou by trading now. Would gladly have bought the 400 if what I wanted was available today.
Sorry about the price mixup.
