How to clean the retractable reverse camera?
I'd like t be able to clean off the retractable reverse camera in the 2015 ML550. It pops out when you go in to reverse, but then pops back into its sealed cubbyhole when you put the vehicle into park. Any ideas how to do this yourself, or does it have to be a two person job?

Set your parking brake. Open the driver's door. Put it in Reverse. Get out and clean the lens on the camera.

Well darn
Well darn, I didn't know that and it sure does work. Went to System and at the bottom of the screen on the left was SETTINGS and clicking on that gave a menu that had 360* Camera. I elected to OPEN it and heard it open. Went to the back of the vehicle and it was open.
I could not close it using the menu. I elected 'some ref to the reverse gear' selection to operate the camera but nothing happened, so I back out of the driveway and went around the block and parked. It was closed by now. I might even clean it someday.

For some reason, in my ML - you can't seem to use the above procedure to open the camera for cleaning. The setting seems to be listed, but you can't select it with the command knob. I was stuck having to use the parking brake and then going back to clean it while hoping that small children and puppies avoid the trajectory behind the vehicle in the case of a parking brake failure (always a possibility with electronic parking brakes). There really should be a better way to do that.
